Classical Japanese dictionary with nouns, verbs, auxiliary verbs and particles. 633 entries.

Search examples

  • Search with Japanese, e.g. ばや
  • Search with English, e.g. to make a mistake
  • Search with rōmaji, e.g. ayamatsu
  • Look up auxiliary verbs with their conjugated forms, e.g. bere

Tips

  • Remember to use proper transcription rules. e.g. 「ぼんやり」 transcribes to bon'yari and not bonyari.
  • Use wildcards to broaden your search: _ for exactly one character and * for many or none.
  • When searching with romanized katakana use - (dash) instead of repeating vowels. e.g. 「クーラー」 (cooler) would be ku-ra- and not kuuraa.
